Adani Green's Solar Plant in Rajasthan to Produce 540 Million Units Yearly
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has announced the completion of a 180 MW solar power facility in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This plant is projected to generate approximately 540 million units of electricity annually, catering to the energy needs of over 110,000 households while curbing approximately 0.39 million tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly. AGEL has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for this project.
The successful launch of this facility marks a significant addition to AGEL's operational solar capacity, which now stands at 6,243 MW. Furthermore, with a total operational renewable energy capacity of 9,784 MW, AGEL holds the position of having the largest such portfolio in India. The company has employed next-generation technology including bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar trackers (HSAT) to optimize energy generation by enhancing module efficiency and sun-tracking capabilities.
Innovative measures have been implemented to address environmental concerns and operational efficiency. These include the use of waterless robotic module cleaning systems to conserve water, especially crucial in the arid region of Jaisalmer. Additionally, AGEL has established an Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC) on a secure digital cloud platform for real-time monitoring of its renewable assets, ensuring superior operational performance.
AGEL remains committed to bolstering India's renewable energy sector, aligning with the nation's objectives of energy security and transitioning towards a low-carbon economy. Through initiatives like this solar power plant, AGEL continues to play a pivotal role in India's sustainable energy future.
