Adani Ports Earns Global Recognition for Climate Leadership and ESG Excellence

AdaniAdani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has garnered global recognition from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) for its exemplary efforts in combatting climate change and advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices throughout its supply chain. The company achieved a leadership band 'A-' in both climate change and supplier engagement categories, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.

APSEZ received an 'A' rating for its initiatives in emission reduction, climate governance, supplier engagement, Scope 3 emissions, and risk management processes. Ashwini Gupta, CEO of APSEZ, expressed satisfaction with the company's ESG performance, highlighting plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2040 through renewable energy deployment and transportation greening.

The recognition was conferred at the 'Climate Action in India: Role of Businesses & Supply Chain’ event in New Delhi, jointly hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). APSEZ's ESG score of 11.3 places it near the negligible risk category (0-10 score band) according to Sustainalytics, positioning it strongly among global companies. The company ranks in the 95th percentile among 16,215 companies rated by Sustainalytics worldwide.

Additionally, APSEZ maintains its leadership in the low-carbon transition rating within the port sector and ranks in the top 15 companies globally in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) 2023. This places APSEZ as the sole port operator among 334 entities in the Global Transportation Infrastructure sector.

The accolades reflect APSEZ's proactive stance towards sustainable development and its strides in aligning business operations with global ESG standards.
