Aditi Kothari Desai Becomes the Chairperson of DSP Asset Managers

Aditi Kothari Desai has been promoted to the position of Chairperson of DSP Asset Managers.

Her father, Hemendra Kothari, who has led DSP Asset Managers from the company's founding in 1996, is said to hand over the reins to her.

Aditi is the first female leader in the DSP's more than 160-year history in the financial services industry and the sixth generation of the Kothari family.

Aditi has more than 20 years of practical experience in the fields of digital transformation, sales, marketing, and investments.

She started her career working on M&A projects in the Financial Institutions Group of Merrill Lynch's investment banking division in New York.

“This transition is simply a continuation of the same long-term thinking and investor-first philosophy that has defined DSP’s journey for over 160 years, and I intend to continue our endeavor to make a difference to and elevate as many lives as we can”, said Aditi Kothari Desai, Chairperson, DSP Asset Managers.

Since joining DSP Asset Managers in 2002, Aditi has founded the group's foreign business and contributed to the development and expansion of DSP's domestic business strategy.

She played a key role in DSP's asset management business's digital transformation.

 

Aditi is also the chairperson of DSP's finance company, Compound Express.

She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

The fund house is one of the only completely independent, family-run businesses among India's top 10 asset managers, according to Aditi Kothari Desai, chairperson of DSP Asset Managers.

The family also continues to invest its own public fund capital, demonstrating their strong commitment and accountability.
