Air India has renewed its partnership with Global Distribution Systems (GDS) partners Amadeus, Saber and Travelport, which will help it provide travel agents, retailers and businesses worldwide with access to Air India seat selection and fares.

"Air India's new expanded agreements with GDS partners now include the provision of New Distribution Capability (NDC) products that offer benefits to passengers such as personalized pricing, attractive fare packages and new add-ons" said the company.

Tata Group-backed Air India announced that it has expanded its partnership with Travelport to include NDC content distribution and support, enabling Travelport subscribers to effectively promote and offer Air India-branded products and ancillary services.

Air India's distribution agreements with Amadeus and Saber have been expanded to include distribution and maintenance of domestic content and  NDC content, it said.

Airlines use GDS systems such as Amadeus, Saber and Travelport to distribute their tickets to travel agents worldwide for a fee.

"The current launch phase of Air India's ongoing transformation and modernization program puts the business and operations building blocks in place to support future growth. Strengthening our distribution network and renegotiating our GDS contracts is an important step towards increasing business efficiency and success as we rapidly build for the future." said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer, Air India.
