Amazon Prime India Inks Licensing Agreement With Paramount Global To Distribute Content

Amazon Prime Video has expanded its English-language entertainment offerings thanks to a licencing agreement with Paramount Global Content Distribution. The Stand, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, and Star Trek: Discovery are the first four titles available for streaming to Prime and Prime Video Mobile Edition subscribers.

Other original shows included in the agreement are Californication, Dexter, The Good Wife, NCIS, Blue Bloods, The Good Fight, Madam Secretary, Reign, The Great, Seal Team, Under the Dome, Munich Games, and Parot.

“We are delighted to announce that a curated selection of Paramount Global content is available for streaming to Prime Members in India at no extra cost," Manish Menghani, director - of content licensing, at Prime Video, India said in a statement. “The slate includes a diverse mix of genres from fantasy and adventure to drama and science fiction," he added.

In a recent interview, Sushant Sreeram, country director of Prime Video, India, said that the opportunity to bring global stories and shows to the country, by localising them using subtitles and dubbing, as the platform is doing with Citadel, as the platform is doing with Citadel, was mentioned.
