BITS Pilani collaborates with Blockchain For Impact for Biomed research

BITS Pilani has partnered with Blockchain For Impact (BFI) as part of the BFI-Biome Virtual Network Programme, aimed at fostering innovation and progress in healthcare. This collaboration will support initiatives at BITS Pilani to drive forward advancements in the field.

As per BITS Pilani officials, their primary focus lies in life sciences and related interdisciplinary fields such as antimicrobial resistance, biomedical devices, and cancer research. Through a strategic partnership, BFI will collaborate with the institute, providing USD 600,000 over three years to leverage BFI’s intellectual resources alongside BITS Pilani’s advanced infrastructure. This collaboration aims to jointly identify research partnership prospects. The partnership is expected to represent a significant step towards advancing transformative healthcare initiatives across BITS Pilani's campuses in Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa.

Sandeep Nailwal, the Founder, BFI, said, “The $15 million BFI-Biome initiative represents a paradigm shift, encouraging collaboration between leading researchers, technologists, and innovators to pioneer the next generation of health interventions”. Professor V Ramgopal Rao, vice chancellor, BITS Pilani, said, “Our collaboration with BFI accelerates biomedical innovation and leverages our expertise and facilities to pioneer transformative healthcare solutions".
