Edtech Startup upGrad Raises Rs.300 crore In A Round Led By Ronnie Screwvala

Edtech startup upGrad announced on Wednesday that it has funded Rs 300 crore in a right issue headed by Co-founder and Chairman of the business Ronnie Screwvala.

Screwvala donated Rs 212 crore to the round of internal finance. Temasek, an existing investor, donated Rs 81 crore, with the remainder raised from other minority shareholders in the firm, according to a statement from upGrad.

According to upGrad, "an internal rights issue was completed for Rs 300 crore."

As stated by an upGrad official, the company remains Asia's premier enterprise and workforce development company.

"Completing 22,000 job placements just this year is a tribute to our methodology and the high degree of interactive deep learning we give our learners and working professionals all around the world," said a spokeswoman.

upGrad has 31 offices throughout India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Singapore, and Vietnam.
