EPIC Group partners Colliers India for Its Debut Manufacturing Unit in India
EPIC Designers, a sustainable fashion company based in Hong Kong, is venturing into India and has chosen Bhubaneswar as the site for its manufacturing facility. Colliers has secured a Rs 220 crore contract to design and build the facility, which will be situated on a 40-acre plot at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The upcoming unit aims to achieve full Net Positive status in both energy and water usage, featuring lush green spaces and serene zen gardens in its landscaping. Emphasizing the use of sustainable materials, waste reduction, and minimizing carbon footprint, this garment factory is set to establish a pioneering standard for the industry in India. With plans to employ over 6000 individuals for operations management, it aims to redefine environmental responsibility and social impact within the apparel sector.
Indranil Basu, managing director of project management at Colliers India, expresses confidence in delivering a project meeting global standards, highlighting the company's extensive experience and technical prowess. The first phase, covering 338,000 sq. ft., is slated for completion by May 2025, with a future expansion potential of 381,236 sq. ft.
Ranjan Mahtani, executive chairman of Epic Group, expresses excitement about the venture, citing India's skilled workforce and textile production expertise. Mahtani underscores the company's commitment to creating a world-class, socially and environmentally responsible manufacturing facility. Bhubaneswar's favourable business environment and strategic location further reinforce the decision. Mahtani looks forward to collaborating with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's administration and leveraging the state's pool of qualified workers as operations scale up. This new factory, according to Mahtani, symbolizes the company's dedication to both people and the planet as it expands globally.
