EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt Ltd, a prominent compressed biogas (CBG) developer in India, along with its affiliate partner Thermax Bioenergy Solutions Pvt Ltd (TBSPL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with European Sustainable Solutions ApS (EUSUSO) from Denmark. This agreement aims to integrate Gemidan Ecogi technology into the establishment of municipal solid waste (MSW) based CBG plants throughout India.

In the presence of Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, the agreement was signed to incorporate EUSUSO's patented technology into India's CBG production, aiming to enhance its efficiency and output. "This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to building a robust CBG ecosystem for achieving India's energy needs", said Mahesh Girdhar, MD & CEO of EverEnviro.

EUSUSO is acknowledged for its technological forefront in waste management and eco-friendly fuel generation in Europe, showcasing a remarkable 99.996% efficiency rate in optimizing the pre-treatment phase within CBG plants. "We are confident that our partnership with EUSUSO-Denmark would help in bolstering CBG production and simultaneously resolving the country's municipal waste management issues", Girdhar added.

The integration of this advanced technology comes at a crucial juncture as India faces pressing challenges related to urbanization and limited landfill capacity. This technological upgrade is anticipated to bolster the Indian government's GOBARdhan initiative, which seeks to expedite the establishment of CBG plants based on municipal solid waste. EverEnviro is already underway in setting up eight such plants.

EUSUSO's CEO Lars Rosgaard, commented on India's potential in the bioenergy sector, saying, "India is the fastest growing major economy in the world and one of the most attractive evolving markets". He highlighted EUSUSO's long-term vision, which includes making equipment in India and introducing solutions for paddy straw management and the production of sustainable aviation and shipping fuel.

TBSPL's CEO, Deodatta Deshpande, underscored the significance of international technology transfers like this one. "The integration of the European Gemidan Ecogi technology in our upcoming MSW-based CBG plants represents a significant leap towards achieving this goal", he said, underscoring the move as a step towards India's net-zero ambitions by 2070.
