Flipkart ventures with Hero, Mahindra to Array Over 25,000 Electric Vehicles in India
Walmart-owned e-commerce market platform Flipkart is going to deploy more than 25,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on the Indian roads by the year 2030 for smoothing deliveries of online orders, succeeding in its commitment to progress their adoption in the country. For the same resourcefulness, Flipkart has united with leading electric vehicle manufacturers including Hero Electric, Mahindra Electric, as well as Piaggio for the specific vehicles to be arrayed for its first and last-mile delivery fleet across the country. This step comes after Amazon India tied up with Mahindra Electric to enhance its online deliveries.
Flipkart has already started organizing the deliveries of two-wheeler and three-wheeler electric vehicles in multiple locations across the country, comprising Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guwahati, and Pune. Apart from that transitioning to electric vehicles across its logistics convoy, will help in setting up charging infrastructure around the company's delivery hubs and offices.
The enterprise's electric fleet will include two-wheeler, three-wheeler, as well as four-wheeler vehicles designed and gathered in the country, which will provide a boost to the local modernization and economy.
According to Flipkart, the company will also place requirements in service contracts, install charging infrastructure close to its 1,400 supply chain facilities, conduct awareness programmes, and reassure delivery executives to use electric vehicles.
