Ganti Venkateswarlu Named Director at Hindustan Shipyard
Ganti Venkateswarlu has taken over as Director (Shipbuilding) of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) effective November 29, 2024. Before this role, he served as Additional General Manager at the organization.
Venkateswarlu joined HSL as Additional General Manager in May 2018 and has since contributed immensely to its growth. He has worked in all three business units of the company, namely Shipbuilding, Submarine Retrofitment, and Ship Repairs. As Head of the Business Development Department, he played a key role in signing HSL's biggest order—the construction of five Fleet Support ships. His other notable achievements include the timely completion of Normal Refits for INS Sindhuvir, Astradharni, Sujata, Sutlej, and other ship repair projects.
An alumnus of the prestigious Naval College of Engineering, Lonavla, and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, he has served on front-line warships of the Navy in addition to tenures in Naval dockyards. Prior to joining HSL, he held various important assignments in his career spanning over 25 years in the Indian Navy, both within the country and abroad.
As Director (Shipbuilding), he will oversee the execution of shipbuilding orders and play a pivotal role in driving HSL’s growth, innovation, and excellence in indigenous shipbuilding, aligning with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
