HCLTech announced on July 20 that it has joined the XR Startup Programme, a Meta and Indian government initiative to promote extended reality (XR) technology companies.

The experts at the information technology firm will mentor such start-ups by holding leadership sessions and providing business and industry perspectives. As the programme progresses, start-ups will be able to take advantage of HCLTech's global infrastructure, engineering technology, and innovation labs to develop, test, and validate their services.

Extended reality encompasses augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality.

HCLTech stated that it will serve as a knowledge partner for the programme and will contribute to the development of an ecosystem in which Indian start-ups can develop hardware and software services solutions. The collaboration will centre on education, healthcare, and agricultural technology.

"We are ecstatic to be a part of the XR Startup Programme, which will mentor and support startups and innovators in emerging technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality." "Digital engineering is a strategic focus for HCLTech, and our participation in this programme reinforces our commitment to nurturing emerging technologies and innovation to drive overall growth," said Vijay Guntur, HCLTech's President, Engineering and R&D Services.
