HP Partners with INDO-MIM for Mass Production of Metal Parts in India
To bolster the 'Make in India' campaign, HP, a leading manufacturer of PCs and printers, announced its collaboration with INDO-MIM, a Metal Injection Molding (MIM) company, for the mass production of metal 3D-printed parts within India. Through the utilization of HP's advanced 3D printing technology, INDO-MIM will facilitate the large-scale manufacturing of high-precision metal components, catering to various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer electronics, and medical equipment.
These machines, installed at the Bengaluru facility of INDO-MIM will cater to both domestic and international markets, according to the company. "We are ready to transform the landscape of metal parts production in India by manufacturing locally and exporting worldwide", Savi Baveja, President of Personalisation & 3D Printing, HP, said in a statement.
Within this collaboration, INDO-MIM has made a significant investment in three HP Metal Jet S100 printers. The deployment of two of these advanced printers aims to offer localized assistance to clients in India and enhance production capacities. One printer will concentrate on pioneering material development, while the other will spearhead application development, serving customers across India, the Middle East, and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The third printer has been installed at the INDO-MIM facility in the US. "The acquisition of HP's Metal Jet S100 printers equips us with the latest technology, enabling us to meet the growing demands of our customers with efficiency and precision, as well as expand the library of materials qualified on the HP printer platform," said Krishna Chivukula Jr, CEO at INDO-MIM. The company stated that with the aid of HP's cutting-edge technology, INDO-MIM can produce high-caliber, uniform metal components for markets in both India and the United States.
