India and Egypt to Strengthen their Relationship in Trade, Investment and other Sectors
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday, during which they inked an accord to raise their bilateral relationship to a "Strategic Partnership."
Both leaders discussed ways to strengthen the two countries' collaboration, including trade, investment, defence, security, renewable energy, cultural, and people-to-people ties.
The two parties agreed to upgrade their bilateral relationship to a "strategic partnership." In addition, three Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed between India and Egypt in the domains of agriculture, archaeology and antiquities, and competition law.
Egyptian President El-Sisi bestowed Egypt's highest state distinction on Prime Minister Modi.
"PM @narendramodi held a productive meeting with President @AlsisiOfficial in Cairo on 25 June 2023," Ministry of External Affairs official spokeswoman Arindam Bagchi tweeted. The presidents discussed measures to strengthen the two nations' collaboration, including trade and investment, military and security, renewable energy, cultural and people-to-people links. The leaders inked an agreement to upgrade the bilateral relationship to "Strategic Partnership" status. Three Memorandums of Understanding were also inked in the domains of agriculture, archaeology and antiquities, and competition law."
