President Murmu stated that as both countries have had cordial relationships dating back to the Non-Aligned Movement, it is now time to develop and enhance the economic collaboration as well as trade links when addressing the India-Serbia business summit in Belgrade.

She expressed optimism that the two nations' trade will increase by roughly $1 billion.

Currently, there are 320 million dollars in bilateral commerce between Serbia and India.

President Murmu is currently finishing her two-nation tour in Serbia. She will be at the country of East Europe for three days until June 9.

The President congratulated Aleksander Vucic, her counterpart in Serbia, for facilitating the business forum.

Earlier, Ana Brnabic, the Serbian prime minister, and Murmu had a meeting.

Meanwhile, addressing the event, President Murmu highlighted that the Indian economy is among the fastest-growing economies in the world, and is on its way to becoming the third largest before the end of the decade.

The auto and auto-components industries, health care, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, renewable energy, textiles and apparel, space, information technology, telecom, fintech, and financial services have all experienced tremendous success, she added.

I've been informed that Serbia has also drawn more than half of the FDI that the Western Balkans region has received since 2018. In order to connect Serbia to larger European networks, investments in the road and rail infrastructure are also proceeding at a steady pace. Your nation is made up of smart, diligent citizens who are inspired by creativity and new ideas. According to her, Serbia might serve as a useful entry point for Indian businesses looking to expand into larger markets in Europe and Eurasia.
