India Launches Second Round of PLI Scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell Manufacturing
The Union Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) is paving the way for a second round of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, focusing on Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC) manufacturing in India. In a meeting held on Monday, the MHI presented details about the global tender, aiming to create a 10 GWh ACC capacity. Noteworthy participation from industry stakeholders and government organizations, including NITI Aayog, Ministry of Power, and MNRE, signals a significant move to strengthen India's ACC manufacturing capabilities.
The presentation covered technical specifications, eligibility criteria, and the evaluation process, with queries from bidders accepted until March 4. The PLI ACC Scheme, a part of the government's ambitious plan, aims to boost technology-agnostic ACC manufacturing domestically, aligning with India's commitment to innovation and self-reliance in the renewable energy sector.
Union Minister of Heavy Industries Mahendra Nath Pandey emphasized the importance of the PLI ACC scheme in positioning India as a global leader in sustainable energy technologies. The tender, available since January 24, has an April 22 bid due date, with bids opening on April 23. The transparent two-stage bidding process through the CPP Portal ensures fairness, transparency, and efficiency in selecting global talent to contribute to India's ACC manufacturing landscape. Interested parties can find more information and updates on the PLI ACC Scheme and the global tender process on the official website of the Ministry of Heavy Industries or the CPP Portal.
