India Possesses Immense Potential, Says VP of Boeing Sales
In the aftermath of the Go First crisis, US aircraft manufacturer Boeing stated on Friday that it will work with stakeholders to alleviate the difficulties to the best of its ability. Ryan Weir, Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing for India at Boeing Commercial Aeroplanes, stated here that India has enormous sales potential.
Lessors have expressed worry about the National Company Law Tribunal's (NCLT) decision to place a freeze on Go First assets, which also prevents the airline from deregistering planes leased by it.
In response to a question about the Go First problem and lessors' worries, Weir stated that it is working with stakeholders and will do its "best to mitigate the issues."
"We don't know what the impact is going to be," he continued.
India is one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets.
Boeing predicted earlier this year that India will require about 2,210 new planes over the next two decades, with 1,983 of those being single-aisle jets.
It also forecasted a nearly 7% yearly increase in domestic air traffic in India through 2041.
