INDO-MIM and HP Forge Alliance to Revolutionize Metal 3D Printing in India
INDO-MIM, a prominent Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) company on the global stage, has unveiled a strategic partnership with HP Inc. aimed at advancing metal 3D printing applications in India. As part of this collaboration, INDO-MIM has deployed two HP metal jet binder 3D printers in India, with an additional unit installed at its US facility. The goal is to facilitate extensive manufacturing of high-precision metal components through 3D printing for various industries including automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer electronics, and medical equipment.
At INDO-MIM's Bengaluru facility, these machines will serve both local and global markets. Under a worldwide partnership, INDO-MIM has acquired three state-of-the-art HP Metal Jet S100 printers. Two of these cutting-edge printers will offer tailored assistance to clients in India, bolstering production capabilities as well. One printer will concentrate on material innovation, while the other will spearhead application development and cater to clients across India, the Middle East, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The third printer has been set up at INDO-MIM's facility in Texas, USA.
Savi Baveja, President of Personalization & 3D Printing, HP Inc, said “We are proud to partner with INDO-MIM to create new possibilities for their customers leveraging HP’s metals additive manufacturing capabilities. We are ready to transform the landscape of metal parts production in India by manufacturing locally and exporting worldwide. We are confident that by working together, we can drive innovation, boost adoption, and enhance India’s presence in the global manufacturing arena”.
Through this collaboration, HP’s advanced technology enables INDO-MIM to produce high-quality, consistent metal parts for both the Indian and US markets. With cutting-edge 3D printing metal binder jet technology, HP assists INDO-MIM in meeting the growing demand for intricate metal parts suitable for large-scale manufacturing. HP and INDO-MIM are also testing new HP Metal Jet materials, such as M2 tool steel. These new materials enhance properties and precision, making metal 3D printing even more effective.
Since its launch in autumn 2023, the Metal Jet S100 3D metal production solution has empowered companies worldwide to streamline the design and manufacturing of metal parts, revolutionizing supply chains in the process. HP and INDO-MIM have been at the forefront of driving forward groundbreaking technology and sustainable manufacturing practices through the utilization of metal additive manufacturing, bringing significant advantages to various industries.
