Ipsita Dasgupta, The New SVP and MD of HP To Lead Indian Market
Ipsita Dasgupta has been named Senior Vice President (SVP) and Managing Director for the India market by HP, the multinational PC and printer manufacturer. Gurpreet Singh Brar, who has served as interim MD since November of last year, will transfer to the post of Vice President, Innovation and Growth for HP's India Market in this new era for HP India.
Her role as HP SVP, MD for India market will encompass guiding all aspects of HP's strategy and financial performance in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and will commence her role on October 30. Dasgupta had previously held the position of Senior Director of Marketing for Apple Services at the Cupertino headquarters in the US. Ipsita Dasgupta, with an extensive 24-year international career spanning multiple industries, including roles at Star India and General Electric Company, brings a wealth of experience to her new position, as per zeenews.
For the most of her career, she has led profit and loss (P&L) activities in a variety of industries while also overseeing Marketing, Strategy, and Growth for global corporations.
According to Dasgupta's LinkedIn page, he began working as a Consultant at Arthur D. Little in 1997. From 2002 until 2010, she worked at IBM for eight years. From September 2010 to November 2011, she worked at Cisco as Managing Director – Emerging Middle Class, Emerging Markets before joining Apple in November 2011.
