Great Panther Mining Limited, an intermediate precious metals mining and exploration company, announces Jaffrey R Mason as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, succeeding R W (Bob) Garnett. Bob will continue to remain on the Board.

Bob holds a rich experience in financial expertise, corporate governance, and general business experience. He has served as a Director of the Company since May 3, 2011 and as the Chair of the Board of Great Panther since February 6, 2012.During his tenure as Chair, the company has successfully completed two significant acquisitions. It also extended the value of its annual precious metal productions nearly five-fold on the basis of its 2019 guidance of 171,500 – 185,000 gold equivalent ounces.
The Director roles are reviewed annually and the appointments are done post the general meeting. Following the acquisition of the Tucano Gold Mine earlier in the year, the Board was impressed with Jaffrey’s blend of governance, finance and mining experience. Being one of the founding partners of the Hunter-Dickinson Group, he has been senior executive and director of various mining companies.

Jaffrey has played active roles on various committees, including the chair of the special committee and by developing the strategic direction of the company and monitoring acquisitions and integration.



At present, Jaffrey serves as the independent board director of Auryn Resources Inc. and Torq Resources Inc. After joining Great Panther’s Board, Jaffrey has played active roles on various committees, including the chair of the special committee and by developing the strategic direction of the company and monitoring acquisitions and integration.
