Jaishankar Inaugurates IHCL Hospitality Skill Centre in Gujarat
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar inaugurated the IHCL Skill Centre in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, aiming to boost the hospitality sector in the region. The center's establishment aligns with the growing tourism, especially around the Statue of Unity, a prominent tourist attraction. Jaishankar, a Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, shared his excitement on the occasion through the social media platform X.
He commended the establishment of the IHCL Hospitality Skill Centre as a well-timed initiative that aligns with the increasing demand for skilled personnel in the rapidly expanding hospitality industry. This sector is experiencing significant growth due to the rising number of tourists visiting Ekta Nagar, with the Statue of Unity being a prominent attraction. Highlighting the importance of ensuring a skilled workforce for the growing tourist facilities in Ekta Nagar, he emphasized the need for addressing this task. Additionally, the minister engaged with the inaugural groups of students undergoing training in front office and food & beverage at the center. He acknowledged the government's efforts to promote tourism, creating new opportunities for local youth.
During his visit to Vadodara on the night of January 28, Jaishankar interacted with students and embarked on a comprehensive tour of the Narmada District. His schedule included attending the inauguration of a lab and smart class at the Children’s Home, Girl’s Campus in Rajpipla, as well as flagging off new ambulances at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Lachharas. The minister is set to conclude his regional engagements and depart from Vadodara on January 30 at 7 a.m.
