Jio Revolutionizes India's 5G Landscape, Launches AI and Cloud Initiatives: Mukesh Ambani

RElianceReliance Jio has positioned India at the forefront of the global 5G landscape, transforming the nation from 5G-dark to 5G-bright, according to Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries. Speaking at the company’s Annual General Meeting, Ambani highlighted Jio’s rapid progress, with over 130 million users adopting its 5G services within just two years, marking the fastest 5G adoption rate worldwide. India has now emerged as the largest data market globally, with Jio’s network handling nearly 8% of global mobile traffic, surpassing major operators in developed markets. Notably, over 85% of India’s 5G radio cells are powered by Jio.

In a significant development, Ambani announced the upcoming launch of Jio Brain, an AI tool designed to streamline AI adoption across the company. Jio Brain aims to enhance decision-making, improve predictions, and deepen customer insights, further solidifying Jio’s technological leadership. Additionally, the Jio AI-Cloud Welcome offer was unveiled, which will provide consumers with up to 100 GB of free cloud storage starting Diwali this year. This initiative will allow users to securely store and access their content with ease.

Reliance Industries has committed substantial resources to research and development, spending over Rs 3,643 crore ($437 million) in FY24, bringing its total R&D investment to Rs 11,000 crore ($1.5 billion) over the past four years. The company has filed more than 2,555 patents across various domains, including 6G, 5G, AI, and IoT. This investment underscores Reliance's commitment to driving innovation and maintaining its competitive edge in the global technology landscape.
