Biocon Biologics announced on Oct 19 the appointment of Kedar Upadhye as its new CFO. Upadhye will take over for current CFO MB Chinappa, who will take on a strategic finance role at Biocon Group and will work with Peter Bains, Biocon's newly appointed Group CEO. The leadership changes will take effect on October 31, 2023, according to a statement from Biocon Biologics.

"He (Kedar) joins us at an inflection point in our journey to become a leading global biosimilars company as we look to consolidate and unlock value in the acquired business," said Shreehas Tambe, CEO and MD of Biocon Biologics.

"I am confident that he will build further on the strong foundation and, with his expertise and experience, work closely with all stakeholders to drive growth and deliver on our business goals," he said.

Upadhye has over 23 years of senior global leadership experience at leading pharma, energy, and FMCG companies such as Cipla, Dr. Reddy's, PepsiCo, and Thermax. Upadhye previously worked as the CFO of ReNew Energy Global Plc.
