InIn a landmark move to bolster industry-academia collaboration, KIIT Deemed to be University (KIIT-DU) has entered into a strategic partnership with Beumer India Pvt. Ltd., a global frontrunner in intra-logistics solutions serving sectors such as airports, logistics, cement, mining, and packaging. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities aims to advance technology in the fields of cement and mining.

The signing ceremony, held on August 12, 2024, at the KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering, witnessed the presence of key officials from both institutions. The event was graced by Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, along with Ms. Shradha Gupta, Manager of Talent Acquisition at Beumer India Pvt. Ltd. (BIL), Mr. Ashutosh Srivastava, Chief of Engineering, and Ms. Geetika Mishra, Chief People & Culture.

Dr. B. Surekha, Dean of the KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the significance of this partnership. She emphasized that the collaboration will enable students to gain specialized knowledge in Cement and Mining Technology, equipping them to tackle industry-specific challenges. The MoU will facilitate internships, workshops, guest lectures, and other experiential learning opportunities, thus preparing students to become future leaders in the technology sector.

Ms. Geetika Mishra of BIL underscored the uniqueness of this collaboration, noting that it represents a novel approach for BIL in India. Ms. Shradha Gupta and Mr. Ashutosh Srivastava shared similar views, expressing their excitement about developing the next generation of professionals through this initiative.

Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting that it will open up exciting opportunities for students. He emphasized that the collaboration will facilitate interactions with industry leaders and provide hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies. Prof. Singh reiterated KIIT’s commitment to integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the MoU and a vote of thanks by Dr. Dilip Kumar Bera, Dean of the KIIT School of Civil Engineering, acknowledging the contributions of all esteemed guests and participants.
