Kiran Desai has been promoted to Vice President - India General Counsel at Netflix, and he announced the news on LinkedIn.

Before this promotion, Desai served as General Counsel and Senior Director - Business and Legal Affairs at Netflix India. In this role, he played a key part in initiatives like "The Voicebox," a program launched in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to train voice-over artists in various Indian languages.

Desai holds an LL.B from Government Law College, Mumbai, and an LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C. He is also admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

Before joining Netflix, Kiran Desai was the Managing Partner at Desai & Partners, a Mumbai-based law firm specializing in media and entertainment law. In this role, he provided legal counsel to celebrities, sports figures, and production houses. His expertise covers intellectual property, licensing, regulatory compliance, and commercial negotiations, positioning him as a key player in shaping the legal landscape for digital content in India.
