Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will launch the 'Kisan Rin Portal' on September 19 to assist farmers in obtaining subsidized loans through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC). At the Pusa complex, a door-to-door KCC campaign and a manual for the Weather Information Network Data Systems (WINDS) portal will also be launched.

The Kisan Rin digital platform, according to the agriculture ministry, provides a comprehensive view of farmer data, loan disbursement specifics, interest subvention claims, and scheme utilization progress, fostering seamless integration with banks for more focused and efficient agriculture credit.

According to a statement, there are approximately 7.35 crore KCC accounts as of March 30, with a total sanctioned limit of Rs 8.85 lakh crore.

As per the official data, the government has disbursed agri-credit of Rs 6,573.50 crore at subsidised interest rate during April-August this fiscal.

The door-to-door campaign will reach non-KCC holders who are beneficiaries of the central scheme PM-KISAN, which provides Rs 6,000 per year to each identified beneficiary farmer's bank account.

The WIND portal manual, according to the ministry, expands the impact of the Weather Information Network Data Systems (WINDS) initiative.

The portal, which was launched in July, uses advanced weather data analytics to provide stakeholders with actionable weather insights for informed agricultural decision-making.

This comprehensive manual also gives stakeholders a thorough understanding of the portal's functionalities, data interpretation, and effective utilisation, allowing farmers, policymakers, and various agricultural entities to make informed decisions.
