KOOK Sees 10x Revenue Surge in Just One Year

Separator

KOOKKOOK, a prominent name in the ready-to-cook meal kit sector, has reported a dramatic tenfold increase in monthly revenue, skyrocketing from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 50 lakh within the past year. This remarkable growth underscores a booming market and a significant shift in consumer preferences toward convenient, high-quality home dining options in India.

A major factor behind KOOK’s success is its acquisition by Pluckk last year, valued at $1.3 million. This strategic acquisition has allowed KOOK to tap into Pluckk’s comprehensive farm-to-fork network, leveraging its established kitchens and extensive direct-to-consumer (D2C), quick commerce (QCom), and offline distribution channels. The merger has greatly expanded KOOK’s customer base, bolstered its presence in urban areas, and optimized its supply chain operations.

KOOK has also forged crucial partnerships with major platforms such as Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Blinkit, which have contributed to a 300 percent increase in market penetration, broadening the brand’s reach and availability.

In addition to its revenue growth, KOOK has significantly diversified its product lineup, expanding from 10 to over 50 SKUs. The expanded offerings now include ready-to-cook soups, smoothies, oats, and more, resulting in a 15X increase in monthly units sold. New product launches like Ramen, Sushi, and breakfast kits such as Overnight Oats and Smoothies cater to busy, health-conscious consumers looking for convenience without compromising quality.

Nikhil Thatai, Co-Founder and Head of Supply Chain Operations at KOOK, remarked, “Our tenfold revenue growth over the past year demonstrates our ability to adapt to the evolving needs of Indian consumers. With over 250 dark stores in each city and a projected 4X growth this year, KOOK is poised to become a leading player in India’s ready-to-cook market. We’re also planning to expand into Tier II cities with meal kits priced as low as Rs 99 to attract a wider, younger audience”.

Arpitta Jerath, Co-Founder and Head of Product & Innovation at KOOK, added, “Our aim is to make cooking enjoyable rather than a chore. With our diverse meal kit offerings, we provide a perfect mix of taste, convenience, and variety. We want our customers to relish the experience of preparing their own meals effortlessly while exploring a range of cuisines. By utilizing quick commerce platforms and broadening our product selection, we’ve successfully enhanced convenience and quality in home dining”.

KOOK meal kits are available on major platforms like Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Nature’s Basket. As the brand continues to innovate, it plans to further expand its meal kit range and enter new markets while maintaining a commitment to fresh, preservative-free meals.
