LinkedIn's India Country Manager Ashutosh Gupta Departs
LinkedIn announced that Ashutosh Gupta, who has served as the Country Manager for India and the APAC head of online sales for LinkedIn Marketing Solutions for 11 years, will be departing from the company by the end of April to pursue a career break. During his tenure as the country manager since 2019, Gupta has played a pivotal role in guiding the region through phases of notable growth and innovation, according to LinkedIn.
Under his leadership, the company highlighted several significant achievements in India, including the introduction of the Hindi language feature to enhance member experience, surpassing 100 million members in India and showcasing the platform's increasing relevance for professionals. Additionally, there was substantial growth in the marketing solutions business, enabling marketers to leverage the platform more effectively for enhanced business outcomes.
"We thank Ashutosh for his decade of dedicated service and wish him all the best for the future. As we continue to grow and scale our business in this strategic market, our APAC and India leadership teams will lean in as we finalize the appointment of a new country manager for India", the company said in a statement.
According to Tomer Cohen, Chief Product Officer at LinkedIn, India boasts approximately 120 million members on the platform. He noted in an interview that the burgeoning influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to affect over half of India's job market, with a growing number of professionals in the country embracing AI skills at a higher rate compared to any other nation. Cohen also emphasized that India ranks among the top five countries globally in terms of AI talent, with Indians utilizing AI skills three times more frequently than the global average.
