LogisticsLogistics technology provider Pidge announced its integration with the government-run Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), aiming to boost e-commerce growth in hyperlocal and same-city deliveries across India. This collaboration leverages Pidge’s expansive network of over 200 regional and national partners to enhance e-commerce penetration beyond the current 5% threshold in the country.

"Pidge's participation in the ONDC Network aligns with our mission to drive inclusivity for sellers, particularly SMEs", said Ratnesh Verma, Founder and CEO of Pidge. "Our offerings are well-matched with ONDC’s objectives to democratise the market and decentralise the e-commerce process".

ONDC, a government initiative to foster an open digital commerce ecosystem, seeks to provide a level playing field for small and micro businesses. By joining this network, Pidge aims to optimise delivery routes, enable real-time order tracking, and facilitate shared rider pools, thereby enhancing logistical efficiency.

T. Koshy, MD & CEO of ONDC, highlighted the significance of Pidge's advanced logistics capabilities for small and micro businesses. "With Pidge’s integration, businesses can tap into new markets using Pidge's robust logistics and partner network", he said. "This will help small sellers expand their reach and boost their presence in the e-commerce landscape".

Pidge’s platform will support end-to-end on-network transactions, providing sellers with the tools needed to enhance reliability, accessibility, and ease of use across India's diverse value chain. This partnership not only fosters a sustainable business model but also empowers small enterprises, contributing to the broader goals of ONDC in promoting a more inclusive and expansive digital commerce environment.
