Manipal Hospitals finishes acquisition of 100% shares in Columbia Asia Hospitals in India Manipal Hospitals has announced the victorious achievement of acquiring 100 percent stakes in Columbia Asia Hospitals Private Limited. The transfer of ownership has taken place post the completion of all regulatory approvals.

With this attainment, Manipal Hospitals becomes India’s second-largest multi-specialty hospital chain. The integrated organization with the sturdy clinical proficiency and breadth of services of Manipal Hospitals, complemented by the strengths of Columbia Asia in clinical and service quality, is exceptionally placed to develop access and address the growing demand for high quality tertiary and quaternary healthcare in the country.

Dr. Ranjan Pai, Chairman, Manipal Education, and Medical Group (MEMG), states, “We are pleased to have completed the regulatory processes that now allow these two outstanding healthcare delivery organizations to function as one. The focus now is on integration that captures the best from both systems so as to offer a world-class experience to all our patients. I once again welcome the entire team at Columbia Asia Hospitals to the Manipal family.”

The acquisition helps Manipal Hospitals with a remarkable geographical and cultural fit that Columbia Asia offers to reach a larger national footprint. Together, the combined entity now has 26 hospitals across 14 cities with 7,000+ beds, and a talented pool of 4,000+ doctors and 10,000+ employees. Treating over 4 million patients annually, the hospital chain today ranks amongst the largest healthcare provider networks in the country.
