Ahead of the Build 2024 event, Microsoft has revealed plans for the introduction of a fresh lineup of personal computers designed to tackle more intricate artificial intelligence (AI) responsibilities. During the unveiling, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella introduced the 'Copilot+' PCs. Nadella emphasized that Microsoft, alongside Dell Technologies, Qualcomm, Intel, and Advanced Micro Devices, will collaborate to develop these new devices, which are poised to be the “quickest, most sophisticated Windows PCs ever crafted”.

During the event, hosted at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington, Nadella highlighted several standout characteristics of the latest Microsoft computer series, Copilot+. These PCs, powered by the Snapdragon X Series, are finely tuned to execute AI tasks locally and boast enhanced performance. The X Elite's integrated CPU sports 8 high-performance cores alongside 4 efficiency-optimized cores.

One of the top features is Recall. In this feature, users will help find files and other data that they have seen on the PC. This is a new feature that will be introduced in Windows 11. The tool will help keep track of everything the user sees and does on the computer. In return, the user will have the ability to search and retrieve anything they have done on the device. At the event, Microsoft also revealed the voice of its Copilot+ voice assistance. The company demonstrated it as a real-time virtual coach to a user playing the "Minecraft" video game.

This new model of computer is expected to meet the minimum standards of processing power and performance. Microsoft's representatives stated in the event that the most compelling reason to upgrade your PC with a Copilot+ PC is faster AI assistants that run directly on a PC. It has also been indicated that the other AI features will be similar to the Ultrabook category of thin-form Windows laptops that Intel promoted with PC manufacturers in 2011.

They also announced that Copilot+ will soon integrate with the latest OpenAI innovation, GPT 4o. Despite its comprehensive features, Microsoft hinted that the new Copilot+ would come with a higher price tag. In addition to Copilot+, Microsoft unveiled a next-generation Surface Pro tablet and Surface Laptop. These upcoming devices will utilize Qualcomm chips built on Arms Holdings' architecture.

Microsoft also detailed a novel technology named Prism, which is designed to facilitate the execution of software originally tailored for Intel and AMD chips on Arm-based chips. Prior to the commencement of its yearly developer conference, the company outlined its ambition to reassert its position in the AI race. By integrating AI with computing devices, Microsoft aims to position itself at the vanguard, akin to its competitor, Apple.
