Nvidia Plans Employee-Funded PAC to Boost U.S. Policy Influence
US chipmaker Nvidia is planning to establish an employee-funded political action committee (PAC) as it seeks to strengthen its engagement with policymakers and increase its influence over US policy, according to reports.
The proposed PAC would allow Nvidia employees to voluntarily contribute funds that could then be used to support political candidates whose positions align with the company’s policy priorities. The move comes as technology companies increasingly expand their political and government affairs activities amid growing scrutiny and regulation of the sector.
Companies commonly establish federal PACs to participate in the political process by making contributions to eligible candidates and political committees. Nvidia would join a growing group of major technology companies that have used such committees to support candidates and policy initiatives relevant to their business interests.
Meta Platforms and Alphabet’s Google are among the major technology companies with established political action committees. The committees provide companies with an additional channel to engage in US elections and advocate for policies affecting their industries.
Nvidia executives are already active political donors. Federal Election Commission records show that Nvidia executives Gavin Sherry and Sundeep Madra donated a combined $443,000 to the Republican National Committee on June 24.

The planned employee-funded PAC would represent a more formal avenue for Nvidia employees to participate in political fundraising. Unlike corporate-funded political contributions, employee-funded PACs rely on voluntary donations from eligible employees.

Nvidia’s growing political engagement comes as the company has become increasingly important to the US technology and semiconductor industries. Its graphics processing units and artificial intelligence chips have made it a central player in the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure.

As governments introduce measures affecting advanced computing and AI, Nvidia has a growing interest in shaping the policy environment surrounding its business.
