Ola's World's Largest e-Scooter Manufacturing Unit in TN is Set to Inaugurate in 2022: New Update Softbank-backed Ola had signed a MoU with the Tamil Nadu government last year, to set up the world’s largest scooter manufacturing facility in the state. Now, Ola’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal has announced setting up the world’s largest e-scooter manufacturing unit in India.

However, the manufacturing unit is expected to come up in 2022 in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri. The e-scooter’s plant set up is expected to be build in 500 acre of land in Krishnagiri. Alongside, the cost estimation for the proposed plant is approximated to be Rs. 2,400 crore and it would have the capacity to manufacture 1 crore or 10 million units per annum, say the media reports.

Ola’s two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant would have the potential to develop a minimum of about 15 percent of the world’s production. And the plant set up is estimated to be completed in the middle of 2022.

However, the proposed two-wheeler electric vehicles manufacturing plant of Ola would be an integrated establishment. The plant would have two supplier parks and Ola would exhort suppliers to set up shops near the plant. The first product from Ola Electric would be rolled off during the summer of 2021. The product is a prototype and has been assembled and it has been tested extensively say Ola’s founder.

Meanwhile, our honourable Prime Minister has also been promoting the use of electric vehicles (EV). Also, he has assured that his government would launch a policy to facilitate the production and exhort the use of EVs. Alongside, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP government has also trying to promote the use of electric vehicles (EV), as Arvind envisioned making Delhi the “Electric Vehicle Capital”.
