Persistent Systems, a digital engineering and enterprise modernization firm based in India, has acquired Starfish Associates, a New Jersey-based company known for its enterprise communications automation platform. The acquisition, announced Wednesday, aims to bolster Persistent Systems' capabilities in unified communications and contact center management, leveraging advancements in AI-driven innovations.
Starfish Associates serves some of the world's largest enterprises, including Fortune 500 companies, with its automation platform that integrates multi-vendor communication systems like Amazon Connect, Avaya, Cisco, Genesys, and Microsoft Teams. The integration of Starfish's platform into Persistent Systems is expected to enhance their offerings significantly amid disruptions in the industry.
Sandeep Kalra, CEO and Executive Director of Persistent Systems, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition, emphasizing the potential for transformation in unified communications and contact center markets. Robert Hankin, Co-Founder of Starfish Associates, expressed optimism about joining forces with Persistent, foreseeing expanded capabilities in integration, automation, and AI-driven contact center transformation.
Industry analysts, including Phil Fersht from HFS Research, view the acquisition as positioning Persistent Systems to disrupt the market with enhanced technological solutions. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by either party.
