P&GP&G India, a prominent player in the FMCG sector, has appointed Kumar Venkatasubramanian as its new CEO, effective May 1, 2024. Kumar will take over from L V Vaidyanathan, who is stepping down after 28 years of service to pursue personal interests, as per a statement from P&G India.

Kumar brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously served as the CEO of P&G's operations in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he led the sales team in P&G India until 2020. Kumar's association with P&G dates back to 2000 when he joined the sales team in India straight from IIM Calcutta.

Stanislav Vecera, P&G President for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, expressed confidence in Kumar's leadership, noting that his vision will propel the India business to new heights while ensuring balanced growth.

In his statement, Kumar underscored the company's dedication to focusing on a portfolio of daily-use products where performance drives brand choice. He outlined plans to enhance various aspects of the company's strategy, including product quality, packaging, brand communication, retail execution, and value proposition.

P&G India operates through four entities: Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care, Procter & Gamble Health, Gillette India, and Procter & Gamble Home Products (non-listed). With popular brands like Ariel, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, and Pampers, P&G India remains a dominant force in the FMCG sector, poised for continued growth under Kumar's leadership.
