Central govt to offer free vaccines to states for all above 18 years starting June 21, announces PM Modi. Total of 25 percent vaccination exertion with states will now be taken care of by the Centre; it will be authorized in the coming two weeks. Both State and Centre have to work as per new guidelines in the coming two weeks. From June 21 June, a free vaccine for people above 18 years.
The government has decided to extend Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till Diwali. 80 crore poor will be provided free ration, under the scheme of PM Modi.
PM Narendra Modi, states, “Many states demanded vaccination to be decentralized. Some voices even questioned prioritizing certain age groups, including the elderly. After we de-centralized certain vaccination processes; many started demanding going back to an earlier centralized structure. Today 7 firms in India in process of producing different types of vaccines; Trial of 3 more vaccines in an advanced stage. Central Govt took into account suggestions from CMs, leaders of various political parties to decide India's COVID-19 vaccination drive. Research continuing on a nasal spray vaccine, which if successful can significantly boost India's vaccination drive.”
