PM Modi's Tech-Driven Governance Vision Gains Global Praise
Praise former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar showered on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his commitment to modernizing governance with the power of technology. He termed it as an inspiring vision, which attracted the whole world's attention. Chandrashekhar said PM Modi's digital transformation initiatives-begun with Digital India in 2015-have become the benchmark for the other nations that aspire to use technology in order to improve governance.
He further said on the social media site X, "PM @narendramodi ji launched @_DigitalIndia in 2015 - and since then has woken the world to his vision of Transforming Governance with Tech #DPI, with so many nations following the same path & strategy of adopting Digitalisation & DPI". He added that way back in 2018, PM Modi introduced the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) to his cabinet when Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang gave a presentation on it showing his vision for AI.
Chandrasekhar described PM Modi as the most peculiar political leader, who is different and dedicated to using technology for good in society; the most farthest citizen, and remaking traditional patterns of governance. As such, he further stated: "Tech world has many stars. But there's only one Political leader who saw the power of tech, harnessed it to benefit even the furthest citizen, and reimagined governance – That is PM @narendramodi with real vision, real commitment, and real hard work".
In fact, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also spoke of his good experiences with the Prime Minister in a CEOs' roundtable hosted by PM Modi in New York, even as he lauded the Prime Minister's approach to technology. Huang, Founder, President, and CEO of graphics chip giant Nvidia, acknowledged PM Modi's efforts to democratise AI in India and described him as a visionary leader. "We are helping India gain access to our most advanced technologies", said Huang. We are teaming up with Internet companies such as the digital transformation service provider Yotta Data Services and other Internet companies to create latest-generation AI supercomputers in India".
During his visit, Huang highlighted AI's transformative potential - particularly for India's burgeoning startup ecosystem, the world's third largest. He noted that new startups in India increasingly focus on AI, which will require robust AI infrastructure to reach their potential. We are partnering with startups, IITs, and many companies here in India. We are teaching students how to upskill in this new world of AI. AI really democratizes computing, and this is India's moment to seize the opportunity", he added.
At the roundtable of CEOs, which was organized by Massachusetts Institute of Technology's School of Engineering, PM Modi interacted with global technology leaders on issues such as AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, and semiconductor. He emphasized economic transformation in electronics, information technology, and green development in India and reiterated the commitment of his government to making India a semiconductor manufacturing hub.
Meanwhile, Yotta Data Services, along with Nvidia, revealed that it plans to deliver advanced GPU computing infrastructure via its Shakti Cloud platform last year. Similarly, it's also been expanding its strategic partnership with Infosys for further co-development of AI-based solutions in domains such as critical areas of 5G, cyber security, and energy transition. Through these collaborations, it would be supporting the development of AI-driven productivity for enterprises and Indian technological growth.
Initiatives by PM Modi are thus a part of a broader vision to place India at the forefront of innovation worldwide, form partnerships, and create infrastructure that empowers the digital and AI landscape of this nation.
