PM Modi to Address Indian Industry Leaders on 'Journey Towards Viksit Bharat'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak at the opening session of the 'Journey Towards Viksit Bharat: A Post Union Budget 2024-25 Conference' at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital on Tuesday, July 30, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) issued.
The conference, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), aims to present the government's comprehensive vision for economic growth and the role of industry in achieving this vision.
The event will see the participation of over 1,000 industry leaders, government officials, diplomats, and representatives from think tanks. Many more will join virtually from various CII centers across India and abroad.
PM Modi has highlighted that the Union Budget 2024-25 will serve as a catalyst for making India the world's third-largest economy and establishing a solid foundation for a developed nation, or 'Viksit Bharat'.
He emphasized that the budget is designed to ensure inclusive growth, benefiting all segments of society, and paving the way for a developed India. "This is a budget that will take the country's villages, poor, and farmers on the path of prosperity. In the last ten years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty", he remarked.
The Prime Minister's address to the industry leaders follows the recent NITI Aayog meeting he chaired, themed ‘Viksit Bharat@2047,’ which focuses on making India a developed nation by 2047.
PM Modi stated that the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @ 2047' is an aspiration shared by every Indian, and states can play a crucial role in achieving this goal due to their direct connection with the people.
He noted that India has made steady economic progress over the past decade. The Indian economy, ranked as the 10th-largest in the world in 2014, has risen to the 5th-largest by 2024. India is on track to become the world's third-largest economy, with its GDP surpassing the $5 trillion mark and aiming for a $30 trillion economy by 2047.
The Union government has embraced a ‘Team India’ approach, involving collaboration with states to achieve the objective of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.
