Preeti Bajaj Named New President of Indian Battery Manufacturers Association

PreetiPreeti Bajaj, the CEO and Managing Director of Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed as the new President of the Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA). Her election took place during IBMA's 3rd Annual General Meeting, which was held in New Delhi on August 28, 2024. The meeting saw strong attendance from IBMA members and regulatory authorities, underscoring the increasing importance of India's battery manufacturing sector.

Having previously served as IBMA's Vice President, Preeti Bajaj now succeeds Arun Mittal of Exide Industries Ltd., who has been commended for his dedicated and visionary leadership during his tenure. Rajesh Jindal, who serves as the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd., was also elected as IBMA's new Vice President.

As she steps into her new role, Preeti Bajaj is committed to furthering IBMA's goal of fostering a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive battery manufacturing industry in India. Her priorities include promoting technological innovation, encouraging sustainable practices, and enhancing India's global standing in the energy sector. Additionally, the meeting featured discussions on IBMA's ongoing initiatives, with representatives from the Delhi Pollution Control Committee acknowledging the association's efforts and suggestions related to compliance with the Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR 2022).
