PwC launched their Academy in India, the educational business of the firm. PwC’s Academy aims to offer a variety of training courses, based on the best practices of PwC’s global network of firms. PwC’s Academy aims to support students as well as organisations across the region grow and retain their talent. Through its courses, the Academy will help improve the knowledge, competence and expertise of people in finance and business. The customised training programmes will bring real life business experiences into the classroom, making learning more effective and practical.

To begin with, PwC’s Academy in India will focus on courses for professionals and students in the areas of finance and accounting. This will help organisations in meeting the challenges resulting from rapidly changing regulatory and financial reporting landscape of corporate India.

Commenting on the launch of the PwC’s Academy in India, Sanjay Tolia, Partner & Leader – Markets, PwC India said, “India has a large talent pool which needs the relevant training to be employable. Within the field of corporate reporting and regulations, we have seen many important changes resulting in India adopting global best practices.The recent adoption of substantially converged global IFRS standards in India, i.e. Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) is a significant change. Therefore, we decided to start with offering related courses. Over the next couple of years, we aim to diversify the course offerings to include other areas of business.”

Inaugural courses details:

Diploma in International Financial Reporting: This globally recognised qualification programme on International financial reporting standards (IFRS), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be an 80 hours course which will include comprehensive study material, mock tests, along with interactive sessions.

Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) Workshops: Classroom training offering a four-day long knowledge sessions on Indian Accounting Standards and other regulatory updates.

The programmes are launched in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru and will cover additional cities in near future.
