Reliance to soon Embed JioMart in WhatsApp
Reliance Retail Ltd plans to embed its JioMart (e-Commerce app) into WhatsApp within six months. This will allow nearly 400 million users of WhatsApp to order products without having to leave the app, two officials aware of the development said on the condition of anonymity.
This integration will allow JioMart to extend its reach across India. This will indeed pose a serious challenge to major e-Commerce companies like Flipkart and Amazon in India. As per Mint report, Mukesh Ambani is trying to own a bigger pie of India’s retail market, which is estimated to reach $1.3 trillion by 2025.
Reliance retail is also on-boarding local kirana stroes on its platform. This will make easy for customers to order using JioMart app as the delivery is either done by the kirana shops or by RIL’s logistics arm Grab, which the company recently acquired in 2019 for $14 million.
