Roku Unveils New Innovation Hub in Bengaluru
Roku, the pioneering TV streaming platform, has announced the opening of its latest office in Bengaluru, further establishing its presence in India’s booming tech industry. Located in the prestigious Embassy Golf Links Business Park, Challaghatta, this new site will serve as a critical innovation hub for Roku, focusing on advancements in cutting-edge technology, software engineering, machine learning, and product development. This move marks an important step for Roku as it continues to expand its global footprint.
The Bengaluru office will play a pivotal role in enhancing the technology that powers Roku’s leading streaming platform, which is the top choice for TV streaming in the U.S. and Mexico. With this new facility, Roku aims to leverage Bengaluru’s vibrant tech ecosystem, renowned for its culture of innovation and highly skilled talent pool, to further its mission of transforming how the world watches television.
Rajesh Premchandran, Roku’s Director of Engineering & India Site Lead, emphasized the strategic importance of this expansion, stating, “Roku was founded on the belief that all TV will be streamed, and Bengaluru will help us continue to transform the way the world watches television. Bengaluru is a city with a vibrant culture and thriving tech scene, and Roku is proud to be expanding its presence here”.
As part of its growth strategy, Roku is actively recruiting engineering talent in Bengaluru, with roles spanning advertising, cloud computing, platform development, devices, and the Roku operating system (OS), which powers Roku TV models and streaming players worldwide. With over 80 million streaming households globally, Roku’s technology is a key driver of the company’s success.
