Semiconductor CEOs Hail PM Modi's Leadership at 'Semicon India 2024'

AsAs India prepares for the ‘Semicon India 2024’ conference, top executives from leading semiconductor companies praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, acknowledging his role in advancing the semiconductor industry, both in India and globally.

CEOs and representatives from SEMI, Micron, NXP, PSMC, IMEC, Renesas, Tokyo Electron Ltd, Tower, Synopsys, Cadence, Rapidus, Jacobs, Infineon, Advantest, and several others met with PM Modi at his official residence. Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of SEMI, stated that Modi's leadership is exceptional, having inspired not only India but the entire world.

Kurt Sievers, CEO of NXP Semiconductors, expressed his admiration, noting that PM Modi’s understanding of the semiconductor industry is unparalleled among global political leaders. Bob Pragada, CEO of Jacobs, a global technical services firm, remarked that Modi’s efforts to elevate India on the world stage align not only with India's needs but also with global requirements.

Luc Van Den Hove, CEO of Imec, a leading global research center in semiconductors, praised Modi’s leadership, stating that it demonstrates a strong commitment to making India a semiconductor technology powerhouse.

The roundtable discussion chaired by PM Modi, held ahead of the three-day ‘Semicon India 2024’ event, focused on the semiconductor industry's crucial role in the Digital Age. PM Modi emphasized that the semiconductor sector will soon become foundational to even the most basic human necessities, underlining the importance of India's role in the global semiconductor supply chain.

Highlighting India's potential to become a trusted partner in a diversified semiconductor ecosystem, Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the industry through its ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for the World’ initiatives. He emphasized the synergy between democracy and technology in driving human welfare and stressed that India is progressing with a global responsibility in the semiconductor sector.

The ‘Semicon India 2024’ event is expected to further India’s ambitions in becoming a major player in the global semiconductor industry.
