Social Media App Koo Integrates ChatGPT To Aid Creators To Create Content

The social media app Koo, which aims to compete with Twitter, has integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT to help users create posts more easily, according to the company's co-founder.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence bot that can generate prose in response to prompts and has sparked a generative AI frenzy in the tech industry.

According to Mayank Bidawatka, co-founder of Koo, Koo users will be able to use ChatGPT directly within the app to help them draught posts about current events, politics, or pop culture.

"This will help creators get inspiration on what to create," he said. "They could ask (ChatGPT) for the trending news in their region and then write their thoughts."

Microsoft and Alphabet's Google each announced their own generative AI chatbots last month, which can synthesise information from across the web in response to searches. Snap Inc, which owns the photo messaging app Snapchat, also debuted a chatbot with a fun and friendly tone.

Koo, according to Bidawatka, will be the first platform to incorporate the technology into the ability to compose posts. Users can use the ChatGPT tool to type their prompts or use Koo's voice command feature.

He added that the ChatGPT integration could help increase the percentage of Koo users who actively create content on the app.

The feature will initially be available to verified Koo accounts before being made available to all users.

In a demo, the tool created a post with an Albert Einstein quote and three related hashtags.

Koo will also look into adding labels to indicate whether a post was created with ChatGPT's assistance.

"I think people should know if content is AI-generated," Bidawatka said.
