
Sourav Ganguly Reappointed as Men's Cricket Committee Chairperson

Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of India, has been reappointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the Men's Cricket Committee Chairperson.
Additionally, Ganguly's old teammate VVS Laxman was reappointed by the ICC to the same committee.
Legendary spinner Anil Kumble was replaced in 2021 by Sourav Ganguly, who captained the Indian national cricket team from 2000 to 2005.
Ganguly, who is currently 52 years old, will remain in this position for an additional three years.
Several additional well-known individuals have been added to the Men's Cricket Committee in addition to Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
These include former England batsman Jonathan Trott, South Africa's Test and One Day International captain Temba Bavuma, West Indies batting great Desmond Haynes, and former Afghanistan star Hamid Hassan.
The ICC also announced the Women's Cricket Committee's leadership.
The Chairperson is Catherine Campbell, a former off-spinner for New Zealand.
Cricket South Africa's (CSA) Pholetsi Moseki and former Australia star Avril Fahey will also be on the committee.
ICC chairman Jay Shah read, “At the International Cricket Council, we are deeply committed to fostering inclusivity and ensuring every cricketer has the opportunity to shine, regardless of their circumstances. In collaboration with our valued partners, we are proud to launch this task force and support fund, complemented by a comprehensive high-performance programme, to ensure displaced Afghan women cricketers can continue their journey in the sport.”
Funds will be set aside to help them out financially.

The Afghanistan women's cricket team will also have access to top-notch facilities, specialized mentoring, and advanced coaching.
