The state government of Uttar Pradesh and the Republic of Korea's Gyeongsangbuk-do province signed a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on Monday to boost academic, economic, and cultural ties.

According to a press statement, a high-level team led by Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheolwoo arrived in Uttar Pradesh for the MoU signing event, which was held at the residence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The MoU was signed by Uttar Pradesh's Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh and Lee Youngseok, Director General of Gyeongsangbuk-do's Bureau of Economic and Industrial Affairs.

According to Adityanath, the MoU is a vital step towards strengthening bilateral collaboration. The sharing of experience in numerous fields, as well as the development of mutual investment, will help the country's prosperity and progress.

Adityanath welcomed the visitors from the Republic of Korea (South Korea), saying, "The dates of both countries' Independence Day are the same." Today is the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' in India. India and South Korea have always had links because both are G20 members." Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech at the United Nations, Adityanath stated that many countries have declared war on humanity, but Buddhists have great regard for India. Sarnath, Shravasti, Kushinagar, Kapilvastu, Sankisa, and Kaushambi are all major places associated with Lord Buddha.
