SpiceJet Appoints Arun Kashyap As COO

SpiceJet announced on Thursday the appointment of Arun Kashyap as chief operating officer, effective June 12.

In his new position, Arun Kashyap will report to Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet.

Kashyap is a 25-year aviation industry veteran who joins SpiceJet from Air India, where he is the chief technical officer. This is his second stint at SpiceJet, having previously served as the airline's chief programme and transformation officer. He has also previously worked for flydubai, Jet Airways, and Oman Air.

SpiceJet is an IATA-IOSA certified airline with a fleet of Boeing 737s and Q-400s. It is one of the country's largest regional players, operating multiple daily flights under the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik or UDAN or Regional Connectivity Scheme. The majority of the airline's fleet features SpiceMax, India's most spacious economy-class seating.
