Gogoro Inc, a provider of electric vehicle battery swapping solutions, announced a partnership with Swiggy on Thursday to promote its electric Smartscooters to Swiggy's last-mile delivery partners across India. According to Gogoro Founder and CEO Horace Luke, the partnership will provide a seamless path for riders to adopt sustainable electric transportation while also improving business efficiency.

"Partnering with Swiggy, a leading player in the industry, to provide access to Gogoro Smartscooters and battery swapping is essential in successfully transforming India's urban fleets to electric," he added.

Swiggy's Head of Operations, Mihir Shah, stated, "This partnership with Gogoro is another key step in our commitment to creating greener and more cost-effective solutions for our delivery fleet."

"Gogoro's battery swapping technology represents a new generation of electric refuelling that has proven successful on a mass scale for last-mile delivery," Shah continued, "and we look forward to working with them to transform hyperlocal deliveries to be more sustainable and efficient in India."

Swiggy committed to covering 8 lakh kilometres per day in EV deliveries by 2021.

The Gogoro platform, on the other hand, provides a two-wheeler battery swapping system that allows delivery operators to manage their fleets and deliveries more efficiently and sustainably.
