NVIDIA announced its partnership with Tata Group on Sept 8, a step towards advancing India's AI ambitions. The two organisations will collaborate to create an AI cloud in India that will provide critical infrastructure for computing's next lifecycle. In addition, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will use the AI infrastructure and capabilities to build and process generative AI applications, as well as upskill 6,00,000 TCS employees.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran stated in a statement that this collaboration with a US tech company will only strengthen and make it easier to access the Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

"Our collaboration with NVIDIA will democratise access to AI infrastructure, accelerate the deployment of AI solutions, and enable scale-up of AI talent," said Chandrasekaran.

With NVIDIA on board, Tata Group's presence across sectors provides numerous opportunities for collaboration to advance India's AI ambition, he added.

NVIDIA will provide AI computing infrastructure and platforms for developing AI solutions in collaboration with Tata, a salt-to-software conglomerate. According to NVIDIA, the collaboration aims to bring AI capabilities within reach of a number of organisations, businesses, and AI researchers, as well as hundreds of startups in India.

The Tata CEO also emphasised the critical role AI will play across industries and in people's lives, stating that it is a key transformational trend of the decade and that every company must prepare for this AI transition.
