Tata Steel and TEXMiN, the Mining Technology Innovation Hub at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, have formed a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionizing India's mining sector. The announcement of this collaboration was made on April 30, 2024, and encompasses the involvement of Tata Steel's Industrial Consulting Division (TSIC) along with TEXMiN at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
By implementing carefully designed training programs, the partnership seeks to equip mining professionals with modern skills covering exploration, mining techniques, remote sensing, and regulatory compliance. This endeavor aims to cultivate a capable and knowledgeable workforce prepared for the future.
TSIC and TEXMiN will synergize their efforts to conceive novel products and services with commercial viability, focusing on scalability and innovation to address industry challenges and drive transformative change. The TEXMiN (Technology Innovation in Exploration & Mining) Foundation, established by DST, GoI, as part of the NMICPS mission, operates as a Section 8 company and serves as the leading Mining Technology Innovation Hub affiliated with IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Its mission is to tackle the diverse challenges facing the mining and exploration industry by strategically leveraging CPS-based technologies.
